Painters, Photographers and More...

When we think of art, often times our minds naturally gravitate towards paintings. And at MOUNTAIN MADE, we have a fine collection of oils, watercolors, prints, framed photography and other flat wall art that showcases the natural beauty of the region as well as the eclectic vibe of the Asheville area.

Olga Dorenko The Olga Dorenko Fine Art Gallery, leicester NC Olga studied at a classical art school in the former Soviet Union before immigrating to the US as a young mother. Her deep appreciation of Asian techniques and styles and admiration for the vivid brushwork and painstaking detail of the Russian artist Ivan Shishkin speaks for itself in her portfolio of inspired paintings. Jo Ridge Kelly Jo Ridge Kelly Originals, waynesville ncEven in her childhood, Jo knew she wanted to paint. Growing up on a dairy farm in NC, she delighted in roaming the surrounding woodlands, pastures and streams. These trail walks gave birth her appreciation for the beauty of local scenery and the desire to capture it in art. Over Jo's career, she has painted diverse genres, including charming realistic landscapes and florals in both watercolor and oils. Since 2008, she has expanded into abstracts, "painting from the heart" as inspired by objects found in nature. Website: jokelley.com
William Whittell spring creek NCWilliam has been an artist for the past 45 years. Originally from Miami, he moved to Spring Creek in 1999. His family background is Irish, Scottish and English, very much like the Appalachian people from this area. William says that he feels as if he has finally come home. Whittell creates unique "leaf" paintings by capturing local scenes and critters on actual leaves he gathers from native trees and shrubs. The combination of natural artistic talent with Nature's leaves produces delightfully unexpected paintings. Website: n/a

Bill Mosher Bill Mosher Photography, Swannanoa NC Bill reponds to people and places using photographs and sharing them with others. He grew up in India where his parents were Presbyterian agricultural missionaries and many of his photos are of north India and Sri Lanka where he has traveled many times. Teaching at Warren Wilson College for most of his adult life, he also photographs the scenics and faces of the Swannanoa Valley and Asheville area. Interested in personal experience, Bill enjoys demonstrating the feel and colors of places through his individual works. Website: billybaba.com

Jesse Lee Leicester NC Jesse Lee is a local craftsman (and longtime picture framer) who has an affinity and talent for working with copper and other metals. Coming from a framing background where things were even, square and balanced, Jesse uses abstract designs, copper, old ceiling tin along with aluminum siding, heating ducts and just about anything else to make his bold and unique framed mirrors.

Cheryl Whitt Asheville, NC Cheryl A. Whitt began her ‘leafing’ career officially in the Fall of 2002. That year the leaves were so spectacular that she found herself stopping her car at any given corner to collect leaves. This pressing process started with no particular direction in mind but ended up to become a driving creative passion in Cheryl's life. Cheryl spends hours walking in the native woods of WNC, collecting then drying and preserving her little bits of the Smoky Mountains for her artwork. The unique framed art pieces she creates are an organic blend of Nature's art with her own artistic flair. We bsite: n/a
