Things to Do in Asheville – Visit Downtown Asheville for the Best in Local Arts
Asheville Art in the Park 2010
If you are at loose ends on Saturday October 2th, we invite you to come to Downtown Asheville! Take a gentle autumn stroll around the city’s newest outdoor environment, the Pack Square Park.
Enjoy the artwork of our local artisans and experience all the sights, sounds and forms of Hoss Haley’s marvelous new bronze fountain on the Square and the uniqueness of the city’s metal sculptures, gardens and greenscapes.
The Art in the Park project was started in 2009 by one of Mountain Made’s glass artists, Jason Probstein and ceramicist Andrew Montrie.
Ten percent of all the proceeds from this event will be donated to a local art non-profit. So far this event has donated $7000 to Handmade in America, the Asheville Art Musem and the Asheville Area Arts Council among others.
And don’t worry about the weather, if it rains feel free to drop by the Historic Grove Arcade and visit us here at the Mountain Made Art Gallery.
Stroll along the Arcade’s fantastic indoor promenade (one of Asheville’s architectural gems), browse our shop for gifts and fine art collectibles and then relax with a meal from one of the Arcade’s dozen great eateries or restaurants.
At MOUNTAIN MADE, we showcase only the most exceptional, interesting and distinctive artwork created in the local Asheville area. So if you are just visiting or wanting to add to your private collection, once you step inside our art gallery, you can be assured that whatever you see being offered will be some of the most unique designs and art pieces available anywhere.
