Congratulations to Chris Sparks & Team Cul de Sac!

“Team Cul de Sac” Book Signing Party!

A Book Signing Party hosted by MOUNTAIN MADE art gallery will be held Tuesday, June 19th, 5-7PM for the book “Team Cul De Sac – Cartoonists Draw The Line at Parkinson’s”.   Click the link below the video to read more about the great story behind this wonderful book!

Team Cul de Sac is a grassroots group of over 150  artists & cartoonists that was organized to raise funds through an art auction and book sales for Parkinson’s disease research — you can buy a copy of the book at our store.

Proceeds from all book sales and the art auction will benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation   for Parkinson’s research.

Asheville native Chris Sparks, who is part of the web design team that helps keep up and running smoothly, has been working tirelessly during this past 18 months as the book editor and chief cat-herder for the group.

The TCDS fundraising effort was inspired by Chris’s friend, Richard Thompson, the genius behind the Cul de Sac comic strip.

Richard Thompson has been named the 2011 Cartoonist of the Year, and  who in 2009, announced that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

There will be live music and light refreshments served. Click here for directions.

Check out the book’s cover below – the cover art is by Richard Thompson and the book is being published by the good folks at Andrews McMeel Publishing.
